He oversaw programming at MTV during its heyday, was recruited as one of the founding executives at Madonna’s Maverick Records, and led the resurgence of MCA/ Universal Records. His stewardship in the establishment of Disney’s Hollywood Records as the teen and tween leader for a decade recognized Abbey as an innovator in driving synergies between artists and the appropriate media platforms to maximize their reach and connection with established and potential fans!

A skilled student of consumer behavior and marketing, with a keen aptitude for psychographic and demographic brand positioning, Abbey was instrumental in creating leading edge campaigns, across multiple platforms and social media. At Disney, he led the market in leveraging, then nascent platforms, Twitter and YouTube as an independent label unencumbered by major music groups restrictions.

Of late, Abbey has partnered on an exciting new immersive live experience called “A Walk Through Rock,” which takes the audiences on a journey through the classic rock years as seen through the eyes of those who were there. Partnering with iconic photographers who bring some of the greatest moments of Rock history to life with the soundtrack of a generation in a concert like experience.
